Memorial Resolution for Garrett Vonzell Sutton
WHEREAS, It is with great sadness that members of this Chamber learned of the death of Garrett Vonzell Sutton (AKA C Ball) on November 20, 2018; and
WHEREAS, The City Council has been informed of his passing by the Honorable Toni Foulkes, Alderman of the 16th Ward; and
WHEREAS, Garrett Vonzell Sutton was born on July 7th, 1962 to loving parents Cornelius and Saniah (Anderson) Sutton; and
WHEREAS, Garrett's early education was at Saint Brendan's and DS Wentworth. During his time at Saint Brendan's he accepted Jesus as his savior and was baptized. He attended Linbdbloom Tech and graduated in 1980. Following high school, Garrett went on to college at Western Illinois University where he pledged with Alpha Phi Omega fraternity, the largest collegiate fraternity in the United States, organized to provide community service, leadership development, and social opportunities for college students; and
WHEREAS, Garrett, independent, adventurous and entrepreneur at heart, successfully began a business he named, AFAB, "Anything For A Buck". Then he started Nu Image. There was always some money making project he had going on. His skills included repairs on cars, computers, and even remodel your house. If you needed it, he could find it. He was not one to work for someone else and preferred to make his own schedule; and
WHEREAS, Garrett leaves to cherish his memories; his loving mother, Saniah Sutton; Sister, Renae Head (Michael), their daughter, Alexis; Sister, Tami Harris and her family: Jevell, Ciera, Kennis, and Tyshauwn; brother, Joesph C Sutton (Leila) and their children; Earnest, Ashley, Rosemary, Joseph III, Jonathan, Jonae, and Josiah. He is also remembered by his niece and nephew Melissa and Anthony Graham and four God daughters; Jasmine, Brittany, Keneisha, and Ashley; a host of extended family and treasured friends who had the pleasure of knowing him.
