Memorial Resolution for David Sowa
WHEREAS, It is with great sadness that members of this Chamber learned of the death of David Sowa on December 19, 2018; and
WHEREAS, The City Council has been informed of his passing by the Honorable Margaret Laurino, Alderman of the 39th Ward; and
WHEREAS, Born on November 6, 1952 David was the beloved son of the late Frank C. and the late Elaine M. Sowa. He was a graduate of Loyola Academy in Wilmette, IL, and Northwestern University; and
WHEREAS, A longtime resident of the Sauganash Community on Chicago's Northwest side, David dedicated his professional life to trading commodities and futures in the markets, a career he relished; and
WHEREAS, David leaves to cherish his memory; his devoted brother, Paul; a host of extended family and treasured friends who had the pleasure of knowing him; David is predeceased by his brother, Frank C. Sowa; and
WHEREAS, David touched the lives of all who knew him through his caring and vivacious spirit. He will be sorely missed but fondly remembered for his sincere character, vast intelligence and integrity; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and Members of the City Council of Chicago, assembled this twenty-third day of January, 2019, do hereby express our most sincere sorrow upon learning of the passing of David Sowa and extend our deepest condolence to his family and loved ones,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be prepared and presented to the family of David Sowa as a sign of our honor, gratitude, and respect.
