CONGRATULATIONS EXTENDED TO ELEANOR SCHWARZ ON HER ONE HUNDREDTH BIRTHDAY

 

 

WHEREAS, On Sunday, January 20, 2019, family members and her many friends are gathering to celebrate Eleanor Schwarz's one hundredth birthday; and

 

WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of this milestone by The Honorable Margaret Laurino, Alderman of the 39th Ward; and

 

WHEREAS, Eleanor Schwarz was born in 1919, the same year that Woodrow Wilson was President, Congress approved the 18th Amendment establishing Prohibition and the 19lh Amendment giving women the right to vote, Harold Lloyd was king of the silent movie box office, and World War I ended with the signing of the Treaty of Versailles; and

 

WHEREAS, Eleanor remains to be a most beloved figure to all who know her. Married for 75 years, Eleanor was the devoted wife of the late Robert L. Schwarz and is the loving mother of David and Steven Schwarz and mother-in-law of Victoria Schwarz; and

 

WHEREAS, A vital and highly respected member of her grateful 39th Ward community, Eleanor spreads much love, good will, wisdom, knowledge, and memories. A cherished friend of many and a good neighbor to all, she richly deserves the warm and fond wishes of her many friends and community as she marks her one hundredth birthday; now,

therefore,

 

Be It Resolved, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, gathered here this twenty third day of January, 2019, do hereby extend to Eleanor Schwarz our best and happiest wishes upon the occasion of her one hundredth birthday; and

 

Be It Further Resolved, That a suitable copy of this resolution be prepared and presented to Eleanor Schwarz.
