RESOLUTION

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHICAGO:

The Rules of Order and Procedure of the City Council of the City of Chicago for the 2015 - 2019 term are hereby amended by deleting the language struck through and adding the underscored text, as follows:

Voting.

RULE 14. Every member who shall be present when a question is stated from the Chair shall vote thereon, unless excused by the Council. Anv member who is going to request to be excused on a question must not participate in debate on the question or preside over the body when the matter is considered, both in the Council and the applicable Citv Council committees.

RULE 39. Except in cases of emergency, not less than three (3) days, exclusive of Sundays and holidays, shall intervene between the issuance of a call for a committee meeting and the date set in the call for that meeting, and each member shall attend promptly at the hour stated in the notice. At the first meeting of the calendar year the committee must establish a tentative meeting schedule for the year, which may be altered in accordance with the notice provisions of these Rules. Notice of all tentative committee schedules shall be in written or electronic form to all members of the Council, all other persons who have filed with the committee a reguest for notice of its meetings, all departments of the citv government which may be affected by the matters to be considered at the meeting, and to the general public by posting in the Office of the Citv Clerk, the Legislative Reference Bureau, the Municipal Reference Library and on the bulletin board in the Council Chamber.
