Your Committee on the Budget and Government Operations, having had under consideration an Ordinance authorizing an amendment to Section 2-56 of the Municipal Code of Chicago relating to the conduct of City Officers and Employees ; and having had the same under advisement, begs leave to report and recommend that Your Honorable Body Re-Refer said proposed Ordinance transmitted herewith to the City Council Committee on Committees, Rules and Ethics.

This recommendation was concurred in by a viva voce vote of the members of the Committee.

ORDINANCE



BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHICAGO:
SECTION 1. Section 2-56-050 of the Municipal Code of Chicago is amended by deleting the language struck through, and inserting the language underscored, as follows:

2-56-050 Conduct of city officers, employees and other entities.
(a) (1) The powers and duties of the inspector general shall extend to the conduct of the following: (1) all elected officers and appointed officers of the city government in the performance of their official duties, including all City Council committees, task forces, and aldermanic offices: (2) all city employees in the performance of their official duties; (3) lobbyists engaged in the lobbying of elected or appointed city officers or employees; (4) election campaigns by all candidates for elected office in the City; (45) all contractors and subcontractors in the providing of goods or services to the city, the city council, any city council committee or bureau or other service agency of the city council pursuant to a contract; (ยง6) persons seeking contracts or certification of eligibility for contracts with the city, the city council, any city council committee or bureau or other service agency of the city council; (67) persons seeking certificati...
