ORDINANCE


BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHICAGO:

SECTION 1. Chapter 2-56 of the Municipal Code of the City of Chicago is hereby amended by inserting the language underscored and deleting the language struck through, as follows:

2-56-010 Establishment - Composition.
There is hereby established an office of the municipal government to be known as the office of inspector general, which shall include an inspector general and such deputies, assistants and other employees as may be required to implement the powers and duties stated herein. The appropriations available to pay for the expenses of the office of inspector general during each fiscal year shall be not less than one hundred five one-thousandths of one percent fO.105%) of the annual appropriation of ail funds contained in the annual appropriation ordinance, as adjusted. For purposes of this section, "as adjusted" means subtracting, before applying the percentage: (\) all funds for services to sister agencies pursuant to intergovernmental agreement as provided in section 2-56-030. and (ii) all funds appropriated for pension payments above those amounts set forth in the appropriation ordinance for fiscal year 2018 provided in the annual appropriation ordinance.

2-56-20 Inspector general - Qualifications, appointment, and authority.
(a) Qualifications for appointment.
1. In considering a candidate for the position of Inspector General, the appointing authority shall evaluate and consider anv and all qualifications that are relevant to the position of Inspector General, including, but not limited to:
