Whereas , In early January of this year, Principal Rebecca Parker of Ray Graham Training Center High School was working with a homeless student who was a victim of domestic violence, and therefore afraid to return to where she was living; and

WHEREAS, When her efforts to support the student were exhausted, Principal Parker sought help from the Chicago Police Department to ensure the student's safety and find a new place for her to stay; and

WHEREAS, Field Training Officer Julifa Grabowski (Star #46.11), and Probationary
Police Officers Kyron Feggins (Star #5592), and Guillermo RJntas, Jr (Star #6082]
responded to the school to provide assistance; and '¦¦/ ' ;;¦;

WHEREAS, Having already been advised that the student- hjgd s^ needs, the officers took £xfra time 'tp Qglrniy explqinTo.her that;fhj^.vve^
trust was not an eas.yj-t.qsk. because .her abuser had threatehed/herr.thdt she would be
taken to jail if she cqllecl the police; and r'^/^i . ¦

WHEREAS, Over several hours, the officers attempted to ffihd a shelter for the
student. Rather than accept any available shelter in order to simply complete the
assignment, the officers Used their combined, experience and knowledge to evaluate
each option and reject those that could not provide the student with the support that
