RESOLUTION

 

 

WHEREAS, The Reverend Willard F. "Bill" Jabusch has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God at the age of 88; and

 

WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and

 

WHEREAS, The Reverend Willard F. "Bill" Jabusch was a widely admired priest, educator and author; and

 

WHEREAS, The Reverend Willard F. "Bill" Jabusch was the beloved son of the late A. Elmer and Frances and the brother of Donna; and

 

WHEREAS, The Reverend Willard F. "Bill" Jabusch attended Mundelein Seminary, Loyola University and Northwestern University; and

 

WHEREAS, The Reverend Willard F. "Bill" Jabusch enhanced his education at the University of London, and trained as a composer at the Chicago Conservatory; and

 

WHEREAS, The Reverend Willard F. "Bill" Jabusch was ordained in 1956 and was assigned to Old St. James Parish; and

 

WHEREAS, The Reverend Willard F. "Bill" Jabusch taught at Quigley Preparatory Seminary, Niles College, Mundelein Seminary, Notre Dame University, the American College at the University of Louvain in Belgium and Chicago area schools; and

 

WHEREAS, The Reverend Willard F. "Bill" Jabusch most recently served as the Chaplain and Director of Calvert House at the University of Chicago; and

 

WHEREAS, The Reverend Willard F. "Bill" Jabusch authored several books, including City on the Tiber, Walk Where Jesus Walked, The Person in the Pulpit and The Spoken Christ; and

 

WHEREAS, The Reverend Willard F. "Bill" Jabusch also wrote hymns that included The King of Glory and Whatsoever You Do; and

 

WHEREAS, The holiness, sacrifice and dedication of the Reverend Willard F. "Bill" Jabusch serve as an example to all; and

 

WHEREAS, The Reverend Willard F. "Bill" Jabusch was an individual of great integrity and accomplishment who will be dearly rriissed and fondly remembered by his many relatives, friends and admirers; and

 

 

WHEREAS, To his beloved family, the Reverend Willard F. "Bill" Jabusch imparts a legacy of faithfulness, service and dignity; now, therefore

 

BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and the members of the Chicago City Council, assembled this twenty-third day of January, 2019, do hereby commemorate the Reverend Willard F. "Bill" Jabusch for his grace-filled life and do hereby express our condolences to his family; and

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of The Reverend Willard F. "Bill" Jabusch.
