RESOLUTION


WHEREAS, Stephen W. Zucker has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God at the age of 78; and

WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and

WHEREAS, A longtime resident of Winnetka, Stephen W. Zucker was the loving husband for 48 years of Shelly, nee Young; and

WHEREAS, Stephen W. Zucker was the much-adored father of Neal, Herbert, Jennifer and Tory and the grandfather of six to whom he imparted many of the fine and noble qualities that he possessed in abundance; and

WHEREAS, Stephen W. Zucker was the dear brother of Patti; and

WHEREAS,'A native of Chicago, Stephen W. Zucker was raised in West Rogers Park and graduated from Sehn High School, Roosevelt University and DePaul University College of Law; and

WHEREAS, Stephen W. Zucker worked early in his career with the City of Chicago's Corporation Counsel's Office before opening a criminal defense practice in 1971; and

WHEREAS, Stephen W. Zucker later embarked on a career as a sports, entertainment and marketing agent; and

WHEREAS, Stephen W. Zucker represented Chicago Bears quarterback Jim McMahon, as well as other sports figures including members of the 1985 Superbowl team; and

WHEREAS, Stephen W. Zucker was the first sports agent to be inducted into the Chicago Sports Hall of Fame; and

WHEREAS, Stephen W. Zucker was a member of the board of the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation; and

WHEREAS, In November of 2018 Stephen W. Zucker published a memoir entitled "Playing Games is Serious Business"; and

WHEREAS, The hard work, sacrifice and dedication of Stephen W. Zucker serve as an example to all; and

WHEREAS, His love of life and ability to live it to the fullest endeared Stephen W. Zucker to his family members, friends and all who knew him, and enabled him to enrich their lives in ways they will never forget; and

WHEREAS, Stephen W. Zucker was an individual of great integrity and accomplishment who will be dearly missed and fondly remem...
