MEMORIAL RESOLUTION FOR ANNIE L. TAYLOR
WHEREAS, God in His Infinite Wisdom has called Annie L. Taylor, most beloved citizen, to her eternal reward on January 12, 2019; and
WHEREAS, this august body has been informed of her passing by the Honorable Emma Mitts, Alderman of the 37th ward; and
WHEREAS, born on February 20, 1935 in Memphis Tennessee, Annie was the adored daughter of the late Beverly Thomas il and the late Vedella Thomas. Annie is preceded in death by two sons, Frank and Robert Jr; one daughter, Sheila; two sisters and seven brothers. She leaves a legacy of faith, dignity and love; and
WHEREAS, Annie accepted Christ as her savior at an early age and served as a faithful member at Good News Community Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Kathy Moon. She later moved her membership to New Rock of Ages Church Baptist under the leadership of Pastor Henry Farmby. She served as Vice President of the Nurses board until she was called home; and
WHEREAS, Annie was united in holy matrimony to Frank Baggett who preceded her in death. This union was blessed with four children. She later met and married the late James Taylor Sr. and to this union were blessed with three children; and
WHEREAS, Annie was a kind and loving mother to all in time of need and was a woman of God and strong faith. She would often say "God has the final say". Annie had a heart of caring and worked as a nurse's assistant and caregiver to those in illness. Annie had a feisty and sassy attitude as well as a sense of humor, all done with love and laughter. She enjoyed watching her soap operas and listening to gospel music. She was an excellent cook who enjoyed cooking large southern meals, creating a loving home and gathering place for her family and friends; and
WHEREAS, Annie leaves to cherish her precious memories; one daughter, Laura Minor; three sons, Roger Bagget, James Taylor (Necole) and Demetrius Taylor (Karen); one stepson, Jimmy Dale; eleven grandchildren, nineteen great grandch...
