Resolution Honoring Midshipmen That Chose to Serve Chicago
WHEREAS, Every one of these young men and women that have chosen to attend the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland deserve recognition; and,
WHEREAS, Not every one of these men and women has received the recognition they deserve; and,
WHEREAS, The City of Chicago and all its residents cannot and will not miss the opportunity to honor every member of the United States Navy; and,
WHEREAS, Fourteen members of the United States Navy chose to forgo their brief break to serve the City of Chicago; and,
WHEREAS, those members include two leaders that deserve special recognition, Lieutenant Alberto Ramos and Ensign Rose Gerszewski; and,
WHEREAS, Lieutenant Ramos and Ensign Gerszewski lead a team of Midshipmen which include Daniel Dolan, Mimi Chin, Janushaa Balakrishnamufhia, Nate O'Neal, Michelle Therianos, Andrea Sparks, Jackie Smith, Raymond "Dan" Bailey, Anna Kang, Xabier Montez, Jadd Oweimrin, Juliana Bae, all of whom have chosen service to Chicago over vacation; and,
WHEREAS, The whole City of Chicago and all its residents would like to thank each and every Officer and Midshipmen that has made this selfless choice; and,
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and the members ofthe City Council ofthe City of Chicago, gathered here this 13th day of March 2019, do hereby celebrate and thank each and every Navy member that has chosen to spend their time in service to Chicago; and.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to every service member of the aforementioned group, for they are the heroes of Chicago this week.
