RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Reverend Stanislaw Jankowski, CR became Pastor of St Hyacinth on July 1, 2013. He was formerly the 20th Pastor of St Hedwig in Bucktown. He succeeded Reverend. Michal Osuch, CR who had been the Pastor of St Hyacinth for many years; and,
WHEREAS. Upon his arrival, Father Stan continued the restoration ofthe tower and other building repairs of the church. Due to limited financial resources, he started creating Parish Financial Council and Parish Pastoral Council composed of parishioners who have been outstanding volunteers of the church. The members are the people who advise and recommend ideas to the Pastor; and,
WHEREAS, For the past two years, Father Stan initiated programs leading to the celebration of 125th of St Hyacinth Basilica. On spiritual side of preparation, on the first year 2017, he invited eloquent priests to discuss the Ten Commandments to remind the parishioners specially the youth and young adults, the core of our faith. In 2018, he focus on the Seven Sacraments, essentials to get closer to God. This year of 2019, they are now on the final year of preparation and the program is about evangelization; and,
WHEREAS, Aside from the Spiritual programs, Father Stan has been continuously been repairing the convent, the school and the Resurrection Hall due to "wear and tear" of the building; and,
WHEREAS, Reverend Stanislaw Jankowski was blessed with the generous benefactors and parishioners who had been supporting him with all the necessary projects of the church; and,
WHEREAS, As he celebrates his 25th Anniversary of Priesthood on Sunday, May 12, 2019, Father Stan wants to invite the parishioners, benefactors, friends and families for thanksgiving to the Lord and for supporting his project for the greater glory of God; and now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago gathered here this twentieth day of May 2019 A.D., do hereby extend our congratulations and best wishes to Rev...
