WHEREAS, LaVerne M. Andrews has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God at the age of 96 to her eternal reward; and

 

WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of her passing by the Honorable Patrick D. Thompson, Alderman of the 11th Ward; and

WHEREAS, LaVerne M. Andrews, nee Krebs, lifelong resident of the south side of Chicago-Bridgeport neighborhood, dearly beloved wife of the late Hugh D. Andrews and the late Frank Mantia, Veteran of World War II, Killed In Action; cherished mother of, Cathy (Robert) Davies, Cheryl (late William) McKenzie and David Andrews; devoted grandmother of Robert (Delia) Davies, Jr., Erin Grafen, Ailison McKenzie and William McKenzie; dear great grandmother of Vivienne G. Davies, Xavier M. Davies, Hunter Grafen, Alayna, Nathan and Lucas Barajas; preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Elsie Noetzel Krebs; one sister, Myrtle Schaeffer; and two brothers, Donald Krebs and Andrew Krebs; dear aunt of many; and

 

 

WHEREAS, LaVerne M. Andrews was a lifelong, faith filled member- at Nativity of Our Lord Church serving in various ways including being active in the Altar and Rosary Society and serving oh the Nativity School Board; and

WHEREAS, Her love of life and ability to live it to the fullest endeared LaVerne M. Andrews to her family members, friends and all who knew her, and. enabled her to enrich their lives in ways they Will never'forget; now, therefore

 

BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago gathered here this twentieth day of May 2019, do hereby express our sorrow on the death of: LaVerne M. Andrews and extend to her family and friends1 Our deepest sympathy; and
