ORDINANCE



BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITH COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHICAGO:


SECTION 1. Chapter 9-52 of the Municipal Code of Chicago is hereby amended by inserting a new Section 9-52-022, as follows:
9-52-022 Bicycles on the Chicago Riverwalk - Prohibited.
No person of any age shall ride a bicycle on the Chicago Riverwalk, as that term is defined in Section 2-32-1300.
The Commissioner of Transportation shall erect and maintain signage indicating that the operation of bicycles is prohibited on the Chicago Riverwalk. No person shall be found in violation of this section unless the required signage has been posted.
Any person who violates this section shall be subject to the fine set forth in subsection (d) of Section 9-52-010 for each offense. Each day that a violation continues shall constitute a separate and distinct offense.


SECTION 2. This ordinance shall take full force and effect upon its passage and publication.
