BE IT ORDAINED BYTHE CITY COUNCILOF THE CITY OF CHICAGO:

SECTION 1. Section 8-32-130 of the Municipal Code of Chicago is amended by deleting the language stricken through and inserting the language underscored, as follows:
8-32-130 Loading and unloading operations.
No person shall undertake or cause the loading, unloading, opening, closing or other handling of boxes, crates, containers, building materials, garbage cans, recycling cans, dumpsters. or similar objects between the hours of 10:00 PM and 7:00 AM in such a manner as to cause a noise disturbance within a residential district,1 or within a noise sensitive zone.
Any person who violates this, section shall be liable for a penalty of $500 for the first violation; $1,000 forthe second violation within a one-year period; and $2.500 forthe third and each subsequent violation within a'one-year period; Each address or location where a violation occurs shall constitute a separate and distinct offense. Each day a violation occurs at an address or location shall constitute a separate and distinct offense.

fc) In addition to the Department of Police, this section may be enforced by designated employees of the Department of Streets and Sanitation, who are authorized to issue citations for violations;


SECTION 2. Section 2-100-110 ofthe Municipal Code of Chicago.is amended by deleting the language stricken through and inserting the language underscored, as follows:

2-100-110 Police powers for designated employees.
