ORDINANCE

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHICAGO:

 

SECTION 1. Chapter 7-24 of the Municipal Code of Chicago is hereby amended by adding a new Article V-B, as follows:

 

Article V-B. CANNABIS (7-24-213 et seq.)

 

7-24-213 Definitions.

 

The following definitions shall apply for purposes of this Article V-B,

 

"Cannabis" has the meaning ascribed to that term in Section 1-10 of PA. 101-0027, the Cannabis Regulation and Tax Act.

 

"Cannabis business establishment" has the meaning ascribed to that term in Section 1-10 of P.A. 101-0027, the Cannabis Regulation and Tax Act.

 

7-24-215 Cannabis business establishments - Prohibited locations.

 

No cannabis business establishment shall sell, give away, barter, exchange, allow the on-premises consumption of, or otherwise deal in cannabis products or cannabis accessories at any location that has a property line within 500 feet of the property line of any building or other location used primarily as a school, child care facility, or for the education or recreation of minors or young adults under the age of 21.

 

7-24-217 Cannabis business establishments - On-site consumption.

 

Cannabis shall not be consumed on the premises of a cannabis business establishment between the hours of 9:00 p.m. and 9:00 a.m.

 

7-24-219 Rules.

 

The Commissioner of Business Affairs and Consumer Protection and the Commissioner of Health are hereby authorized to promulgate rules necessary or appropriate to enforce this Article V-B.

 

 

SECTION 2. This ordinance shall take effect upon its passage and publication.
