BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHICAGO:
SECTION 1. Pursuant to an ordinance heretofore passed by the City Council which allows
erection of honorary street-name signs, the Commissioner of Transportation shall take the necessary action for standardization ofthe intersection of West Fullerton Avenue and West Grand Avenue, on the south side ofthe street, from North Natchez Avenue to North Normandy Avenue as "Antonio Pasin Way."
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after it's passage and publication.

Radio Flyer Bio Antonio Pasin Way - Honorary Sign
It began with a classic story of humble beginnings. Antonio Pasin was in search of a better life. Immigrating to Chicago from Italy in 1914, he saved enough money to rent a one-room workshop on Chicago's west side. A skilled cabinet maker, Antonio started manufacturing a wooden coaster wagon in Chicago in 1917, first calling it "Liberty Coaster" for the Statue of Liberty and then changing the name in the late 1920s to Radio Flyer, to capture the fascination with two cutting edge technologies of the time, radio broadcasts and airplane flights. He then pioneered the technique of stamping wagon parts out of steel to mass produce them, earning him the nickname "Little Ford".
In 1933, Chicago was the host of the World's Fair, Century of Progress. Antonio seized this opportunity to promote his new creation and recruited the help of a fellow Italian, Alfonso lannelli, to construct a 45ft Coaster Boy for the fair. This was one of the most popular exhibits on Enchanted Island and offered miniature wagons for 25 cents. Inspired by this larger-than-life monument, Radio Flyer constructed the World's Largest Wagon for their 80:h anniversary and as a tribute to Antonio's hard work. This monument of childhood play received the Guinness World Record title for Largest Toy Wagon and was featured in the 2019 Guinness World Record Book. The World's Largest Wagon is currently on display outside of Radio Flyer's headquarters on the west side of Chicago.
Antonio created a legacy of beautifully designed, quality children's products that continue to spark imagination and inspiration as Radio Flyer is rediscovered with each new generation. Over 100 years later, Radio Flyer remains a Chicago-based family company led by Antonio's grandson and Chief Wagon Officer, Robert Pasin. By providing thousands of jobs for the community throughout the century, Radio Flyer has created more than 100 award-winning products available in 25 countries. This legacy was recognized when Antonio Pasin was inducted into the Toy Industry Hall of Fame in 2003. The company also created an Emmy award-winning short film. Taking Flight, which was inspired by Antonio's life, work and the enduring icon he created.
