At the request of the Commissioner of Planning and Development, I transmit herewith ordinances authorizing the sale of City-owned property.

Your favorable consideration of these ordinances will be appreciated.

ORDINANCE
WHEREAS, the City of Chicago ("City") is a home rule unit of government by virtue of the provisions ofthe Constitution ofthe State of Illinois of 1970, and, as such, may exercise any power and perform any function pertaining to its government and affairs; and
WHEREAS, the City is the owner of the vacant parcels of property located at 4842 and 4844 South May Street, Chicago, Illinois 60609, which are legally described on Exhibit A attached hereto (the "Properties"), which Properties are located in the 47th/Halsted Redevelopment Project Area ("Area"), as amended, established pursuant to ordinances adopted by City Council of the City ("City Council") on May 29, 2002, published in the Journal of Proceedings ofthe City Council for such date at pages 85676 through 85904; and

WHEREAS, by ordinance adopted by the City Council on September 10, 2008, and published in the Journal of Proceedings of the City Council for such date at pages 36557 through 36559 the City Council approved the sale of the Negotiated Parcel at 4842 South May Street, PIN 20-08-204-036-0000, to Adrian Delgado of 4840 South May Street, Chicago, Illinois 60609; and

WHEREAS, Adrian Delgado did not finalize the purchase; and

WHEREAS, Brooklyn 1967, LLC, with a principal business address of 220 East Flamingo Rd., Las Vegas, Nevada 89169, has offered to purchase the Properties from the City for the sum of Twenty-four Thousand and 00/100 Dollars ($24,000.00), such amount being the combined appraised market value ofthe properties; and
