ORDINANCE

SECTION 1. Chapter 2-45 of the Municipal Code of Chicago is hereby amended by adding a new Section 2-45-160, as follows:

2-45-160 Special Service Area requirements.

The Commissioner shall not approve any application for the establishment of a special service area pursuant to §20 of the Special Service Area Tax Law, codified at 35 ILCS 200/27-20, that does not include proposed bylaws governing the organizational structure and procedures of the special service area commission. The Commissioner shall not approve any application for the renewal of a special service area pursuant to §25 of the Special Service Area Tax Law, codified at 35 ILCS 200/27-25, that does not include proof that the special service area commission has adopted bylaws.

SECTION 2. This ordinance shall take effect following due passage and approval.
