BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHICAGO:

SECTION 1. Chapter 10-8-335 of the Municipal Code of Chicago is hereby amended by deleting the language struck-through and inserting the language underscored, as follows:

10-8-335 Outdoor special events.
(a) As used in this section unless the context requires otherwise:
(1) "Special event" means a planned temporary aggregation of attractions, including public entertainment, food and beverage service facilities, sales of souvenirs or other merchandise, or similar attractions, that is (i) conducted on the public way, including outdoor public enjoyment areas developed pursuant to Section 2-102-030; or (ii) conducted primarily outdoors on property open to the public other than the public way and which:

No application for a special event permit shall be accepted less than seven days prior to the special event.
The application shall include the following information:

plans for the recycling and composting of waste generated at the event, including the number and locations of recycling and composting bins, a description of the signage or personnel to be used bv the applicant to ensure waste is placed in the applicable bin, and a copy of an agreement with either a licensed private scavenger and a vendor approved by the Department to provide proper transportation and processing of such recyclable and compostable waste: and
