BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHICAGO:
SECTION 1. Section 2-25-050 ofthe Municipal Code of Chicago is hereby amended by inserting the language underscored, as follows:
2-25-050 Powers and duties of the department.

(b) Powers and duties of the Commissioner and the department. The powers and duties ofthe Commissioner and department shall be as follows:

(25) To administer and enforce all ordinances relating to public passenger vehicles and ambulances; provided that the Comptroller shall administer Section 4-68-130; and to enter into taxicab-related agreements provided for in Sections 9-112-565 and 9-112-570;

SECTION 2. Section 9-112-570 of the Municipal Code of Chicago is hereby amended by inserting the language underscored, and by deleting the language struck through, as follows:
9-112-570 Taxicab wheelchair accessible vehicles and centralized wheelchair accessible dispatch.
(a) {_} The Commissioner commissioner is authorized by rule to regulate wheelchair accessible taxicab vehicles and a centralized dispatch system for wheelchair accessible taxicab vehicles.
The Commissioner is authorized to negotiate and enter into agreements with outside providers to manage and operate a centralized dispatch system for wheelchair accessible taxicab vehicles; and, in connection with such agreements, to enter into and execute all such other instruments and to perform any and all acts, including the allocation and expenditure of duly appropriated funds, as shall be necessary or advisable in connection with the implementation of such agreements and any renewals thereto.
The Commissioner commissionor is authorized to assess the costs of such a central centralized dispatch system upon those licensees with wheelchair accessible taxicabs.

SECTION 3. The Commissioner of Business Affairs and Consumer Protection is authorized to ratify and extend the term of the current agreement with respect to the centralized dispatch system referred to in Section 9-112-570 of the Municipal Code of Chicago until a new contract authorized by that subsection is executed and effective.



SECTION 4. This ordinance shall take effect after its passage and approval.
