ORDINANCE
WHEREAS, the Annual Appropriation Ordinance for the year 2020 ("2020 Appropriation Ordinance") ofthe City of Chicago (the "City") contains estimates of revenues receivable as grants from agencies of the state and federal governments and public and private agencies; and
WHEREAS, the City through its Department of Public Health ("Health") has been awarded federal grant funds in the amount of $1,819,000 by the United States Department of Health and Human Services which shall be used for the Ending the HIV Epidemic: Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program; and
WHEREAS, Health has been awarded additional state grant funds in the amount of $25,000 by the Illinois Department of Public Health which shall be used for the Tobacco Free Communities Program; and
WHEREAS, the City through its Department of Family and Support Services ("DFSS") has received carryover federal grant funds in the amount of $10,000 by the Corporation for National and Community Service ("CNCS") which shall be used for the Foster Grandparents Program; and
WHEREAS, DFSS has received carryover federal grant funds in the amount of $5,000 by CNCS which shall be used for the Senior Companion Project - Action Program; now, therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHICAGO AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The amounts of $1,844,000 not previously appropriated, representing new grant awards, and of $15,000 in carryover funding, are hereby appropriated from Fund 925 - Grant Funds for the year 2020. The 2020 Annual Appropriation Ordinance is hereby amended by striking the words and figures and adding the words and figures indicated in the attached Exhibit A which is hereby made a part hereof.
SECTION 2. To the extent that any ordinance, resolution, rule, order or provision of the Municipal Code of Chicago, or part thereof, is in conflict with the provisions ofthis ordinance, the provisions of this ordinance shall control. If any section, paragraph, clause or provision of this ordinance shall be held invalid, the invalidity of such section, paragraph, clause or provision shall not affect any of the other provisions ofthis ordinance.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect upon its passage and approval.
