RESOLUTION CONGRATULATING BERNADETTE WODKE
WHEREAS, Bernadette Toczylowki Wodke was born on May 16, 1935. She consequently will be celebrating her 85th birthday; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable Marty Quinn, Alderman ofthe 13th Ward, has apprised the members of the chamber of this remarkable woman's auspicious milestone; and
WHEREAS, Bernadette Toczylowki was born at Lewis Memorial Hospital to Hermina and Edward Toczylowski. Bernadette was the youngest of her two siblings, Edward and Eleanor; and
WHEREAS, Bernadette attended Visitation High School in Chicago and graduated in 1953. After graduation and before meeting the love of her life, Bernadette worked for United Airlines; and
WHEREAS, Bernadette was on a girl's weekend in Wisconsin having dinner, when she was approached by Myrlin "Mike" Wodke. They soon started dating and married on August 22, 1964 at St. Symphorosa Church. Bernadette and Mike had two daughters, Donna and Monica. They built a beautiful life together and were married for fifty-one wonderful years; and
WHEREAS, Bernadette has a son-in-law, Christopher Lauritzen and a grandson, William Lauritzen, and
WHEREAS, Bernadette retired from Little Company of Mary Hospital after twenty-three years of service to the health care industry; and
WHEREAS, Bernadette is a faithful member of St. Symphorosa Parish since 1953 and a lifelong resident of the Southwest Side of Chicago; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and members of the City of Chicago City Council, gathered together this twentieth Day of May, 2020, do hereby congratulate Mrs. Bernadette Wodke on her 85th birthday and extend our very best wishes for many more birthdays to come.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be prepared and presented to Bernadette Wodke.
