RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Robert T. Degnan has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God at the age of 70;and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and
WHEREAS, Robert is survived by his wife Kathleen, his children, Robert, Garrett, and his daughter Laura, his eight grandchildren, his two brothers Timothy and Patrick, and his three siblings-in-law; and
WHEREAS, Robert retired in 2002 as Commissioner of Fleet Management; and
WHEREAS, After his retirement, Robert was appointed as General Manager of System Maintenance Support with the Chicago Transit Authority; and
WHEREAS, Robert was a proud member ofthe Operating Engineers Local 150; and
WHEREAS, To his beloved family, Robert T. Degnan imparts a legacy of faithfulness, service and dignity; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and the members ofthe Chicago City Council, assembled this twentieth day of May, 2020, do hereby commemorate Robert T. Degnan for his grace-filled life and do hereby express our condolences to his family; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Robert T. Degnan.
