RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, Samuel Elliot Sheifo was born in Chicago, Illinois on February 16, 1973; and

WHEREAS, Sam grew up on Mohawk Street in Old Town in the 1970's; and

WHEREAS, Sam was a member of St. Michael's Parish in Old Town;,and

WHEREAS, Sam lived at the corner of Paulina and Nelson during his teenage years; and

WHEREAS, Sam attended Lakeview High School and later went on to serve valiantly in the United States Naval Reserve: and

 

WHEREAS, Sam always contributed to the Chicago film community, appearing in and producing local productions for aspiring artists; and

 

WHEREAS, Sam loved hosting tenants at the building his father owned on Addison and Hermitage; and

 

WHEREAS, Sam was an avid observer of Chicago politics and the history of this city; and

 

WHEREAS, Sam loved to visit and discover all aspects of Chicago and knew more about the city than anyone you've ever met; and

 

WHEREAS, Sam was an icon in the local independent film community; and

 

WHEREAS, Samuel Elliot Sheifo passed away on April 23, 220 and will be forever missed by his family, friends, arid the city that loved him just as muchas he loved it: now, therefore,

 

BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and Members of City Council of the City of Chicago, assembled this twenty day of May, .2020, do hereby honor the life and memory of Samuel Elliot Sheifo and recognize him as an honorary and true Chicagoan who exemplified this city and loved every and all parts of it: and
