RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Jeanne A. Velo, has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God at the age of 102; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of her passing by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and
WHEREAS, Jeanne is survived by her sons, Monsignor Kenneth Velo and Robert Velo, her sisters Ada Krusinski and Brunie Courtney, 8 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren; and
WHEREAS, Jeanne was born March 28,1918; and
WHEREAS, Jeanne met her late husband, Dominick J. Velo, at the age of 12, and later married in 1940; and
WHEREAS, Jeanne was a longtime Flossmoor resident and matriarch of a five generation family; and
WHEREAS, Jeanne devoted her life to her 6 grandchildren when her late daughter Barbara passed away in 1969; and
WHEREAS, To her beloved family, Jeanne A. Velo imparts a legacy of generosity, compassion, devotion to family and unwavering faith in God; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and the members ofthe Chicago City Council, assembled this Twenty-second day of July, 2020, do hereby commemorate Jeanne A. Velo for her grace-filled life and do hereby express our condolences to her family; and
