RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Honorable Robert S. Molaro has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God at the age of 69; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and
WHEREAS, Robert is survived by his devoted wife, Barbara Molaro, sons Samuel Molaro and Michael Molaro, daughters Robyn King Molaro, Miranda Diaz Molaro, and Alexandra Stell Molaro, daugther-in- law Jane Middleton, son-in-laws Timothy King, Daniel Diaz, and Daniel Stell, sister-in-law Nancy (Charles] Lunon, nephew Nicholas (Rachel) Lunon, and 11 grandchildren, and a multitude of close relatives and very dear friends; and
WHEREAS, Robert was born June 29,1950 to Samuel and Angelina Molaro in Chicago, Illinois; and
WHEREAS, Robert graduated from St Ignatius College Prep in 1968, received a Bachelor's degree from Loyola University in 1972, and a law degree from John Marshall Law School in 1976, where after he began his career with the City of Chicago Corporation Counsel; and
WHEREAS, Robert started his own law practice, Robert S. Molaro & Associates, which he continued until the present day; and
WHEREAS, Robert became the 12th Ward Democratic Committeeman which was the start of his political career that spanned three decades with service in the Illinois State Senate from 1993 to 2003 and the Illinois House of Representatives from 2003 to 2008, and served as the Democratic Spokesman of various committees; and
WHEREAS, Robert championed animal protection issues and was a leading advocate for Illinois horse racing and gaming expansion; and
WHEREAS, In 2008, Robert retired from politics and became a lobbyist; and
WHEREAS, In 2009, Robert was presented with a retirement resolution that praised his work for his work promoting animal welfare, including legislation he sponsored as a senator that banned shooting preserves, and a House Bill that outlawed the slaughter of horses for human consumption; and
