ORDINANCE

 

WHEREAS, Chapter 4-17 ofthe Municipal Code of Chicago authorizes the establishment of Restricted Residential Zones pursuant to an opt-out process, which requires a petition to trigger an ordinance; and

 

WHEREAS, The requisite procedural requirements have been met; now, therefore,

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHICAGO:

 

SECTION 1. Pursuant to Sections 4-17-020 and 04-17-040 of the Municipal Code of Chicago ("Code"), the 7,b Precinct ofthe 13lh Ward, as described herein, is hereby designated as a Restricted Residential Zone within the meaning of Chapter 4-17 ofthe Code. All new or additional shared housing units and vacation rentals shall be prohibited within the boundaries of such 7,b Precinct, with such boundaries beginning at the intersection of the Chicago Belt R.R. and W. 55"' St., thence east on W. 55,b St. to S. Kolin Av., thence south Kolin Av. to W. 57,h St., thence west on W, 57,h St. to S. Kostner Av., thence south on S. Kostner Av. to W. 58,h., thence west on W. 58'" St. to S. Kenneth Av., thence north on S. Kenneth Av. to W. 57,b St., thence west on W. 57'" St. to S. Kilbourn Av., thence north on S. Kilbourn Av. to W. 56'" St., thence West on W. 56,h St. to the Chicago Belt R.R. and thence north on Chicago Belt R.R. to the place of the beginning.

 

 

SECTION 2. This ordinance shall take full force and effect upon its passage and publication, and shall remain in effect for four years following its effective date.
