SUBSTITUTE ORDER

 

BE IT ORDERED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHICAGO:

 

SECTION 1. The Budget Director, in consultation with the Chief Financial Officer, the Comptroller, and the Commissioner of Assets, , Information, and Services, shall issue a request for information to the relevant technology sectors to identify potential efficiencies in the City's technology system and processes, and potential revenue sources. Such request for information shall be posted by no later than February 1, 2021, and responses must be submitted no later than April 1, 2021. The Budget Director shall submit any such responses to the Committee on Economic, Capital and Technology Development no later than May 1, 2021. Within 30 days following submission of such responses to the Committee on Economic, Capital and Technology Development, the Committee on Economic, Capital and Technology Development shall convene a subject matter hearing on the potential efficiencies in the City's technology system and processes, including potential revenue sources, which were identified in the responses to the request for information. The Budget Director, Chief Financial Officer, Comptroller, and Commissioner of Assets, Information, and Services shall attend such hearing to discuss the practicality of such potential efficiencies and revenue sources identified in the responses to the request for information.
