RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Marie A. Salem has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God at the age of 94 to her eternal reward; arid
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of her passing by the Honorable
Patrick D. Thompson, Alderman of the 11th Ward; and
WHEREAS, Marie A. Salem, nee Paulauskis, beloved wife of the late Willie, loving rriother to her son and daughter-in-law, William "Bill" and Marlene Waleszonia; grandchildren Dawn (Joseph) Doe and Nicholas (Dorie) Waleszonia; and great-grandchildren Brandon, Austin, and Ethan; and
WHEREAS, Marie was bpm on October 8,1929 in Centralia, Illinois to Margaret and William Paulauskis; Her family moved to Chicago soon after, Marie was a life-long resident ofthe Bridgeport neighborhood of Chicago; She loved to swim at the " Y", attend Catholic church services and visit the local riverboat casinos in between trips to Las Vegas.She had a successful career as a waitress, most notably at "David's" restaurant until it burned down in 1984; and
WHEREAS, Her love of life and ability to live it to the fullest endeared Make to her family members, friends and all who knew her, and enabled her to enrich their lives in ways they will never forget; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago gathered here this twenty second of July 2020, do hereby express our sorrow on the death of Marie A. Salern and extend to her family and friends our deepest sympathy; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Marie A. Salem.
