At the request ofthe Budget Director, I transmit herewith an ordinance authorizing the execution of an agreement with the Chicago Cubs Baseball Club, LLC.

ORDINANCE
WHEREAS, the City of Chicago ("City") is a municipal corporation and a home rule unit of government under Section 6(a), Article VII ofthe 1970 Constitution ofthe State of Illinois; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to an ordinance adopted by the City Council of the City (the "City Council") on December 11, 2013 and published in the Journal of the Proceedings of the City Council for said date at pages 71315 to 71355, the City authorized the execution of an agreement (the "Agreement") with the Chicago Cubs Baseball Club, LLC (the "Cubs") regarding, among other things, the scheduling of certain professional baseball games and Events (as defined in the Agreement) at Wrigley Field and the Cubs' compliance with certain neighborhood protection requirements; and
WHEREAS, the City and the Cubs executed the Agreement with an effective date of February 2, 2014; and
WHEREAS, Section 5(A) of the Agreement requires that the Cubs make payments (the "CubFund Payments") to the City in the amount of $500,000 per year for calendar years 2014-2018 and $250,000 per year for calendar years 2019-2023; and
WHEREAS, the CubFund Payments are used to pay for the "CubFund Projects" identified in Exhibit A to the Agreement; and
WHEREAS, because of financial hardships caused, in part, by the COVID-19 pandemic, the Cubs have requested, and the City has agreed, to allow the Cubs to make the 2020 CubFund Payment of $250,000 in calendar year 2024; and
