ORDINANCE

WHEREAS, Chapter 4-17 of the Municipal Code of Chicago ("the Code") authorizes the establishment of restricted residential zones ("RR Zones") pursuant to an opt-out process, which requires a petition to trigger an ordinance; and

WHEREAS, RR Zones, defined in Section 4-17-010 as precincts that are essentially ineligible for shared housing units or vacation rentals, have been established by ordinance in various precincts and wards across the City; and

WHEREAS, Section 4-17-040 of the Code provides, in relevant part, that: "An ordinance ... to establish a restricted residential zone shall: ... (d) be in effect for four years following the effective date of such ordinance ...; and (e) once in effect, be subject to renewal by ordinance at the expiration of the four year period without the need for another supporting Petition."; and

WHEREAS, The RR Zones identified below have not been repealed pursuant to Section 4-17-050 and are thus currently in effect, and the City Council desires to enact an ordinance renewing their RR Zone status for an additional four years; now, therefore,

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHICAGO:

SECTION 1. The ordinance establishing the RR Zone in the 10th precinct of the 13Ul ward (City Clerk Document No. 02017-3884), effective on July 26, 2017 and expiring on July 26, 2021, is hereby renewed for an additional four-year period expiring on July 26, 2025.

SECTION 2. The ordinance establishing the RR Zone in the 45th precinct of the 13th ward (City Clerk Document No. 02017-3888), effective on July 26, 2017 and expiring on July 26, 2021, is hereby renewed for an additional four-year period expiring on July 26, 2025.

SECTION 3. The ordinance establishing the RR Zone in the 21st precinct of the 13th ward (City Clerk Document No. 02017-3896), effective on July 26, 2017 and expiring on July 26, 2021, is hereby renewed for an additional four-year period expiring on July 26, 2025.

SECTION 4. The ordinance establishing the RR Zone in the 48lh precinct of the 13lh ward 2017 (City Clerk Document No. O2017-3904), effective on July 26, 2017 and expiring on July 26, 2021, is hereby renewed for an additional four-year period expiring on July 26. 2025.

SECTION 5. The ordinance establishing the RR Zone in the 6th precinct of the 13th ward (City Clerk Document No. O2017-4859), effective on September 6, 2017 and expiring on September 6, 2021, is hereby renewed for an additional four-year period expiring on September 6, 2025.

SECTION 6. The ordinance establishing the RR Zone in the 4th precinct of the 13th ward (City Clerk Document No. 02017-4860), effective on September 6, 2017 and expiring on September 6, 2021, is hereby renewed for'an additional four-year period expiring on September 6, 2025.

SECTION 7. The ordinance establishing the RR Zone in the 11th precinct of the 13th ward (City Clerk Document No. 02017-4861), effective on September 6, 2017 and expiring on September 6, 2021, is hereby renewed for an additional four-year period expiring on September 6, 2025.

SECTION 8. The ordinance establishing the RR Zone in the 20th precinct of the 13th ward (City Clerk Document No. O2017-4862), effective on September 6, 2017 and expiring on September 6, 2021, is hereby renewed for an additional four-year period expiring on September 6,2025.

SECTION 9. The ordinance establishing the RR Zone in the 22nd precinct of the 13th ward (City Clerk Document No. O2017-4863), effective on September 6, 2017 and expiring on September 6,2021, is hereby renewed for an additional four-year period expiring on September 6,2025.'

SECTION 10. The ordinance establishing the RR Zone in the 31st precinct of the 13th ward (City Clerk Document No. O2017-4864), effective on September 6, 2017 and expiring on September 6, 2021, is hereby renewed for an additional four-year period expiring on September 6, 2025.

SECTION 11. The ordinance establishing the RR Zone in the 32nd precinct of the 13th ward (City Clerk Document No. O2017-4865), effective on September 6,2017 and expiring on September 6, 2021, is hereby renewed for an additional four-year period expiring on September 6, 2025.

SECTION 12. The ordinance establishing the RR Zone in the 33rd precinct of the 13th ward (City Clerk Document No. 02017-4866), effective on September 6, 2017 and expiring on September 6, 2021, is hereby renewed for an additional four-year period expiring on September 6, 2025.

SECTION 13. The ordinance establishing the RR Zone in the 38th precinct of the 13th ward (City Clerk Document No. O20l 7-4867), effective on September 6, 2017 and expiring on September 6, 2021, is hereby renewed for an additional four-year period expiring on September 6, 2025.

SECTION 14. The ordinance establishing the RR Zone in the 42nd precinct of the 13lh ward (City Clerk Document No. 02017-4868), effective on September 6, 2017 and expiring on September 6, 2021, is hereby renewed for an additional four-year period expiring on September 6, 2025.

SECTION 15. This ordinance shall take full force and effect upon its passage and publication. Following due passage and publication of this ordinance, each section renewing a precinct prohibition shall be deemed effective to coincide with the date of expiration of that precinct's prohibition.
