SUBSTITUTE ORDINANCE
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHICAGO:
SECTION 1. Article IV of Chapter 2-8 of the Municipal Code of the City of Chicago is hereby amended by deleting the language struck through, and by inserting the language underscored, as follows:
ARTICLE IV. LEGISLATIVE REFERENCE BUREAU OFFICE OF LEGISLATIVE SUPPORT
(2-8-820 et seq.)
2-8-820 Establishment and supervision.
There is hereby created and established an Office of Legislative Support of City Council, which shall include a Director of Legislative Support appointed by City Council and such other staff in such number and for such compensation as mav be provided in the annual appropriation ordinance. The purpose of the Office of Legislative Support shall be to provide the members of City Council with clear and accurate advice, analysis, opinions, and assistance as requested regarding the execution of their legislative function, including but not limited to the preparation of legislative language, financial analvsis, and legal opinions and advice, a legislative reference bureau which shall be known as tho "city council legislative reference bureau". The said bureau shall be under the control, supervision and direction of the President Pro Tempore of tho City Council.
2-8-830 Director - qualifications, appointment, compensation, and dismissal for cause. Staff;
The Director of Legislative Support shall be appointed by City Council by majority vote, and
shall serve a term of four years from the date of his or her confirmation by majority vote of City
