anford ("Sandy") Myles Goldman, 89 of Rio Verde, Az., formerly of Rogers Park

S

(Chicago), II. passed away on June 24th, 2021. Beloved husband of the late Carol Jensen Goldman, loving mother of Stephen (Jeanne), Elisabeth Thompson (Elliot); grandfather of Anne Marie and Seamus Goldman, Robert and Ryan Thompson. Son of David and Edith (Duckler) Goldman, brother of Merna (Mike) Willner. His passing was closely preceded by his wife of 65 years, Carol. Sandy was a long-time Rogers Parker where he was a community activist and long-time leader of the Rogers Park Community Council. He also hosted one of the original blogs in "and That's My Opinion" which focused on Chicago/Rogers Park related topics. Sandy was a salesman at heart, working for Broyhill furniture for 25 years. His other careers included, co-owner of the Video Advantage video store in Wilmette and volunteer carnival promoter for several Rogers Park organizations. For many years he ran the "Hi Neighbor Day" carnivals in Rogers Park. Like Carol, Sandy lived a full life where they were able to visit 88 countries around the world. An interesting thing about "Carol and Sandy" is how many people of all ages knew and loved them. They were truly a cross-generational couple and will be missed by many Rogers Parkers, no matter how old they are and where they currently reside.
