RESOLUTION CALLING FOR BUILDING A 911/311 DAILY DASHBOARD

WHEREAS, in response to constituent complaints concerning the inaccuracy of information available about service request entered in the 311 database, the City of Chicago's Department of Assets, Information and Services is in the process of updating its present system of 311 reporting in order to provide real-time response; and

WHEREAS each of Chicago's 50 Ward Service Offices are also in need of a ward-wide dashboard for this and other aggregated information concerning municipal activity affecting their wards and precincts on a real-time basis; and

WHEREAS, the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA), U.S. Department of Commerce has established grants to assist minority communities in developing their broadband use. However, all grant applications must be completed by December 31, 2021; and

WHEREAS it behooves this body to immediately consider installing a 911/311 dashboard in all Ward Service offices and move expeditiously to apply for all funding that has currently been made available due to the ongoing pandemic and other known sources; now therefore

BE IT RESOLVED that we, the undersigned members of the City of Chicago City Council, do hereby memorialize the Department of Assets, Information and Services to develop an expanded informational 911/311 dashboard that aggregates hyperlocal information with 911/311 service request in a single ward-based application.
