WHEREAS, The City has created a program known as "INVEST South/West" to marshal the resources of multiple City departments, community-based organizations and corporate partners toward ten (10) neighborhoods on the City's South and West sides; and

WHEREAS, As part of INVEST South/West, the City Council approved 02020-1817 on April 24, 2020, which was published in the Journal of Proceedings of the City Council for April 24, 2020 on page 15224, and which identified twelve (12) commercial corridors (the "Priority Corridors") and approved that certain Technical Services Agreement between the City and National Main Street Center, Inc., which was entered into as of October 8, 2020 (the "Contract"); and

WHEREAS, Under the Contract, one such Priority Corridor is "79th Street (Stony Island to Exchange)" (the "79th Street Priority Corridor"); and

WHEREAS, Pursuant to section 8.3 of the Contract, the City may terminate the Contract, or any portion of the services to be performed under the Contract, upon written notice; and

BE IT ORDERED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHICAGO, That the Commissioner of Planning and Development shall take all necessary actions to remove the 79th Street Priority Corridor from the Contract, and all services to be provided under the Contract with respect to the 79th Street Priority Corridor; and

BE IT FURTHER ORDERED, That the Commissioner of Planning and Development shall Issue any written notices required under the Contract to effectuate this order within IZ1 days of the effective date of this order.

This order shall be effective upon passage.
