ORDER
BE IT ORDERED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHICAGO:
SECTION 1. The Commissioner of Cultural Affairs and Special Events is authorized and directed to negotiate and present to the City Council for approval an intergovernmental agreement with the Chicago Park District (the "Park District") requiring the Park District to give notice to the City of each special event permit application received by the Park District. Such agreement shall include, at a minimum, that notice be given to the following City departments and officials: the Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events, the Department of Business Affairs and Consumer Protection, the Chicago Police Department, the Chicago Fire Department, the Department of Streets and Sanitation, the Chicago Department of Transportation, the Department of Law, the Office of Emergency Management and Communications, and the Alderman of the ward or wards in which such special event is to be held.
SECTION 2. The Commissioner of Cultural Affairs and Special Events shall provide an update on the negotiations required by this Order to the Committee on Special Events, Cultural Affairs and Recreation no later than 30 days after the effective date of this Order, and every 30 days thereafter until such an agreement is presented to City Council for approval.
SECTION 3. This order shall take effect upon passage.
