, Mintha Fountain is officially announcing her retirement from the City of Chicago after 21 years of dedicated service: and

WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of this joyous occasion by the Honorable Anna M. Valencia, City Clerk; and

WHEREAS, Mintha Fountain is the proud daughter of Mr. J.D. and Ms. Macie Fountain and the loving and devoted mother of Timothy Robertson and the late Marcus Robertson; and

WHEREAS, A native Chicagoan and lifelong resident ofthe West Side of Chicago, Mintha Fountain graduated from Charles Sumner Elementary, George Westinghouse High School, and Malcolm X College; and

WHEREAS, Before her tenure in the City Clerk's Office, Mintha Fountain worked as a temporary employee in June of 1996 with the Department of Revenue and after four years of dedicated service she was officially hired as a computer operator on May 1, 2000; and,

WHEREAS, Mintha Fountain continued her civil service with the Department of Human Services for three years before joining the Clerk's Office; and

WHEREAS. During her time with the City Council Division, Mintha Fountain helped prepare the Journal of the Proceedings of the City Council of the City of Chicago and has been an exemplary employee who has earned the respect and admiration of her colleagues; and

WHEREAS, An invaluable and dedicated team member, Mintha Fountain was frequently called upon to work late evenings and weekends to ensure that the office faithfully fulfilled its legally mandated responsibility as the official record-keeper for the Chicago City Council; and

 

WHEREAS, While serving with the Office ofthe City Clerk, Mintha Fountain has built many lasting friendships; and although she will be sorely missed, her retirement will give her more time to spend more time doing the things she loves, including reading, skating, bowling and vacationing. And in true form Mintha's main goal is to make sure her friends and family are well taken care of and seeing smiles on their faces; and

WHEREAS, Mintha Fountain looks forward to sharing her retirement with her family, son,

 

 

Timothy Robertson, sister, Tijuana Fountain-Wright, brother in law, Anthoine Wright Jr., daughter in law, Natasha Robertson, as well as her many loving nephews and grandchildren; now, therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the City Clerk and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, gathered here this Seventeenth day of November, 2021, do hereby extend our most heartfelt gratitude to Mintha Fountain for her many years of dedication to Chicago and its citizens and extend to her our very best wishes for a wonderful retirement and continued happiness; and

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be prepared and presented to Mintha Fountain and her family as a token of our appreciation for her good faith.
