CONGRATULATIONS EXTENDED TO LIEUTENANT ROY A. BOFFO ON HIS RETIREMENT FROM THE CHICAGO POLICE DEPARTMENT

 

WHEREAS, Lieutenant Roy A. Boffo retires from the Chicago Police Department following 31 years of dedicated public service; and

WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of this occasion by the Honorable Derrick G. Curtis, Alderman of the 18th Ward; and

WHEREAS, Lieutenant Boffo, Star #566, began his illustrious career with the Chicago Police Department in 1990, and retires as a valued member of the 006th District; his presence will be sorely missed; and

 

WHEREAS, Dedication to and fulfillment of the motto of the Chicago Police Department - "We Serve and Protect" - exacts a substantial physical and emotional toll not only on the officers who must daily cope with the stress and danger of putting their lives on the line for countless City residents, but also on their family members; and

 

WHEREAS, Throughout his long and distinguished tenure, Lieutenant Boffo upheld the finest traditions of the law enforcement community, and his hard work, commitment, and dedication to duty earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues and the communities he protected; and

WHEREAS, Lieutenant Boffo devoted 31 years of his life to public service to the people ofthe City of Chicago, and, in doing so, has personally ensured that the City of Chicago is the safe, healthy, and vibrant community it is today; and

WHEREAS, The leaders ofthe City of Chicago want to recognize the great debt owed to our public servants, and extend our sincerest gratitude to the long and prolific career of Lieutenant Boffo; now, therefore

 

BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council ofthe City of Chicago gathered here this fifteenth day of December, 2021, do hereby express our gratitude for 31 years of service to the people of the City of Chicago, and express our heartiest wishes on a pleasant retirement to Lieutenant Boffo; and
