RESOLUTION

 

WHEREAS, David Ligue has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God at the age of 60 to his eternal reward; and

 

WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by the Honorable Patrick D. Thompson, Alderman of the 11th Ward; and

 

WHEREAS, David "Bubba" Ligue 60, a lifelong resident of Chicago-Canaryville neighborhood, passed away peacefully into eternal life,on December 25, 2021. Beloved husband of Laura Ligue nee Crocker; devoted father of Patricia O'Reilly, and dearest step-father of Stephen (Juanita) Chavez, Brian (Ashley) Chavez, and the late Edwina Fisher; cherished grandpa of 11; loving brother of the late Darlene (late William) Tremore, Dolores Born, Edwin (Kathleen) Ligue, Christine (late Melvin) Powell, Loretta (late Richard) Jugan, Robert (Helen) Ligue, Donna (late Tim) Smith, Donald (Susan) Ligue, Herschel Ligue, and Kevin Ligue; and

 

WHEREAS, David was preceded in death by his parents Edwin and Mary Ligue nee Fulkerson; and

 

WHEREAS, He was known to many as the "neighborhood mechanic." Bubba was a loving husband, father, stepfather, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend who will be deeply missed and never forgotten; and

 

WHEREAS, His love of life and ability to live it to the fullest endeared David to his family members, friends and all who knew him, and enabled him to enrich their lives in ways they will never forget; now, therefore

 

BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and members ofthe City Council ofthe City of Chicago gathered here this twenty-six of January 2022, do hereby express our sorrow on the death of David Ligue and extend to his family and friends our deepest sympathy; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of David Ligue.
