RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, In the early morning hours of Thursday, December 16, 2021, Chicago Fire Department Engine 94 responded to a fire on the 3100 block of North Marmora Avenue; and,
WHEREAS, Firefighter/EMT MaShawn Plummer, crew member of Engine 94, entered the burning building and while battling the blaze, suffered life-threatening injuries himself; and,
WHEREAS, On December 21, 2021, God, in his infinite mercy, called MaShawn Plummer home; and,
WHEREAS, MaShawn Plummer leaves behind his loving parents, Felicia Townsend and Jermaine Plummer, and his sisters, Jazmine and Ana; and,
WHEREAS, MaShawn Plummer joined the Chicago Fire Department on December 1, 2020, seven years after he was accepted into the fire academy, and had just recently celebrated his one year anniversary within the Chicago Fire Department with his crew mates at Engine 94, located at 5857 West Grace Street; and,
WHEREAS, MaShawn Plummer was the epitome of generosity. He grew up with a strong sense of responsibility and a passion for serving others. He will be sorely missed by his friends and family and those lives he touched; and now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED, That, we, the Mayor and members ofthe Chicago City Council assembled this twenty-six day of January 2022 A.D., do hereby express our condolences to the family of MaShawn Plummer who was taken too soon; and,

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be prepared and presented to the family members of MaShawn Plummer.
