ORDINANCE
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHICAGO:
SECTION 1. The following roadway shall be renamed, with a "West" designation, as Flood Street:
• The renamed roadway shall run from S. Kedzie Ave. to S. Whipple Street
SECTION 2. The Commissioner ofthe Department of Transportation (the "Commissioner") shall notify, in writing by certified or registered mail, and the post office serving the area affected by the name change, of such change in thc street name authorized by this ordinance.
SECTION 3. The Commissioner is authorized and directed to perform, or cause to be performed, all such acts, including without limitation the placement of street name signs with the new street name, and to execute and deliver any and all agreements, documents, instruments or certificates as the Commissioner deems necessary, advisable, or appropriate, to effectuate this ordinance. All of the acts which are in conformity with the intent and purposes of this ordinance, whether heretofore or hereafter taken or done, shall be and the same are in all respects ratified, confirmed, authorized, and approved hereby in all respects.
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall be in effect after its passage and publication. The change in the name of thc roadways, as provided for in this ordinance, shall take effect ninety (90) days after the Commissioner provides thc notices required by Section 2 of this ordinance.
