A City Council Resolution Honoring Taylor Electric Company
WHEREAS, This august Chicago City Council body has been informed of the 100 Anniversary of Taylor Electric Company by the Honorable Michelle A. Harris, Alderman of the 8th Ward; and
WHEREAS, Taylor Electric Company is celebrating 100 years of serving the Chicago area in September 2022; and
WHEREAS, Taylor Electric Company is a woman-owned electric company run by President and CEO Kendra Dinkins
WHEREAS, Ms. Dinkins was awarded Woman of the Year from Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. -Tau Psi Zeta Chapter in March 2022.
WHEREAS, The family-owned and -operated company specializes in road construction, traffic signal, and lighting maintenance and a vertical structure, along with multi-unit, residential, and commercial electrical maintenance. Taylor Electric was founded in 1922 by Sam Taylor with his son Rufus Taylor joining the company in 1958 and later assuming the role of president.
WHEREAS, Today, the company has a team of more than 80 employees where 75% are women. As a Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) certified by the Illinois Department of Transportation, the company has built a reputation for excellence working with state agencies and local clients such as Guaranteed Rate Field, home of the Chicago White Sox, and Soldier Field, home of the Chicago Bears.
THEREFORE, Be It Resolved, That the Mayor and members ofthe City Council ofthe City of Chicago, dp hereby express our congratulation; and

Be It Further Resolved That a suitable copy of this resolution be prepared and presented to the Taylor Electric Company.
