ORDINANCE
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHICAGO:
SECTION 1. Chapter 10-28-360 of the Municipal Code of the City of Chicago is hereby amended by inserting the language underscored and by deleting the language struck through as follows:
10-28-360 Definitions.

"Renewal application" means an application for a Sidewalk Sign permit at the same location and by the same person approved by the Commissioner within the previous five years, and there is no change from the previously approved Sidewalk Sign application submitted under Section 10-28-375.

SECTION 2. Chapter 10-28-820 of the Municipal Code of the City of Chicago is hereby amended by inserting the language underscored and by deleting the language struck through as follows:
10-28-820 Review of application.
The Department shall review a submitted application for compliance with this article and rules.

(B) For purposes of this section, "renewal application" means an application for the operation of a sidewalk cafe at the same location and by the same person that was approved within the previous 12 months, and there is no change from the previously approved sidewalk cafe application submitted under Section 10-28-810.
If the Commissioner finds that a renewal application meets the requirements of this article and the rules promulgated hereunder, the Commissioner shall issue the sidewalk cafe permit to the applicant.

SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be effective immediately upon its passage and
publication.
