ORDINANCE
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHICAGO:
SECTION 1. Section 4-4 of the Municipal Code of the City of Chicago is hereby amended by inserting new Sections 4-4-125:
4-4-125 Third Party Events- Prohibition.
Except as otherwise provided in this Code it shall be unlawful for any licensee to allow a third party, with or without compensation, to host an unpermitted event or party at the premises ofthe licensee outside the establishment's posted operating hours.
This section shall not apply to any licensee whose primary business activities include renting the premises for events and parties, including but not limited to businesses licensed under Sections 4-6-180 or 4-6-290 or Chapters 4-8, 4-156, 4-160, 4-360, 4-388, or 4-60, excluding packaged goods licensees.
The Department may issue a temporary permit to allow a third party to host a party or event at the premises of a licensee, in accordance with rules and regulations promulgated by the Department.
The licensee and all controlling persons shall be jointly and severally liable for any violation of this section, as well as any violations of this Code that occur at or during an event or party hosted at the licensee's premises, including any parking lot or parking facility serving such licensee's premises, in violation ofthis Section.
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall take effect 10 days after passage and publication.
