Lois Bennett

WHEREAS, Almighty God in His infinite wisdom and judgment has called Constance Loeria' Rover (Connie), an outstanding citizen of Chicago, to her everlasting reward and returned to the heavenly realm on July 4, 2022; and
WHEREAS, This august Chicago City Council body has been informed of his passing by the Honorable Michelle A. Harris, Alderman of the 8th Ward; and
WHEREAS, In Marengo County; Linden. Alabama, on February 11, 1931, a beautiful baby girl names Lois Bryant was bom. Her parents were Mr. and Mrs. Edgar and Mattie Perry-Bryant. To this union, there were eight children. Her parents and seven siblings, willie Lee, Sidney, Western, James Edward, Eliza, Hiawatha, and Lou Dell, preceded her in death; and
WHEREAS, As a young girl, she accepted Christ at a young age and was baptized at Hopewell Baptist Church. In addition, she attended Linden Academy as a young girl. She also worked wih her family in the country under the guidance of her grandmother Mary Eliza Parker Perry; and

WHEREAS, In 1952, she relocated to Chicago, IL. While in Chicago, Lois worked in the textile and hospitality industries and Chicago Public Schools food services. In 1962 Lois was united in holy matrimony to Mr. Calvin Bennett, who preceded her in death; and
WHEREAS, Lois was a woman of good faith who believed in GOD and was dedicated to living her life through his word. She instilled Christian values in her daughters and family. She served GOD's house as an usher at the Temple of Divine Science under the leadership of Bishop George Murphy. In the 1960s. Lois joined the First Church of Deliverance under the leadership of Rev. Clarence H. Cobbs. She also enjoyed visiting other notable Chicago churches; and

WHEREAS, In her spare time, Lois loved to watch her favorite "Wheel of Fortune" at 6:30 p.m. nightly. She was also an avid and passionate cook. This passion was most apparent on holidays. She loved to cook her favorite dishes s...
