ORDINANCE

WHEREAS, the City of Chicago ("City") is a home rule unit of government by virtue of the provisions of the Constitution of the State of Illinois of 1970, and as such, may exercise any power and perform any function pertaining to its government and affairs; and

. WHEREAS, the City is the owner of the property located at 1800 W. 17th Street, Chicago, Illinois, 60608, which is legally described on Exhibit A and depicted on Exhibit B attached hereto and incorporated herein (the "Property"); and

WHEREAS, the Property is comprised of 475 square feet, measures 25 feet x 19 feet, occupies the rear portion of the vacant lot at 1800 W. 17th Street, and is not developable as a stand-alone lot; and

WHEREAS, SBSS, LLC, an Illinois limited liability company ("Grantee"), submitted a proposal to the Department of Planning and Development (the "Department") to purchase the Property from the City for the sum of Nine Thousand Three Hundred and No/100 Dollars ($9,300.00) (the "Purchase Price"); and

WHEREAS, the Purchase Price represents the appraised fair market value of the Property as of November 22, 2019; and

WHEREAS, Grantee owns the property located immediately adjacent to the Property and intends to assemble the Property with the adjacent land to construct an eight-unit residential building, as depicted in the drawings attached hereto and incorporated herein as Exhibit C (the "Project"); and
WHEREAS, by Resolution No. 22-031-21, adopted on August 18, 2022, the Chicago Plan Commission approved the disposition of the Property; and
