RESOLUTION CONGRATULATING SERGEANT ARMANDO SILVA JR. ON HIS RETIREMENT
WHEREAS, Mr. Armando Silva Jr. retired from 29 years of outstanding service to the citizens, families and communities of the City of Chicago.
WHEREAS, Mr. Armando Silva Jr. was a lifelong resident ofthe City of Chicago, growing up in the Back Of The Yards and in 1994 he began working as a Patrolman for the Chicago Police Department.

his tenure in the 010th District, followed by workingin Gang Enforcement in 1 and Area 4, then working in the Gang Investigation Division and finally wastpromoted to Sergeant of Police were he onee again served the residents ofthe 010th District.
WHEREAS, Mr. Armando Silva Jr. was awarded 192 total awards, that being; a Crime Reduction Award in 2004,2009 and 2019. Earned two Attendance Recognition Awards, five Complimentary Letters; one Democratic National Convention Award, thirteen Department Commendations, 15S Honorable Mentions, one Joint Operations Award; one Ufe Saving Award, one NATO Summit Service Award, one Police Officer of the Month Award, one Presidential Election Deployment Award in 2008, one Problem Solving Award, two Special Commendations, and two Unit Meritorious Performance Awards.
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and members ofthe City Council ofthe City of Chicago, gather here this twenty sixth day of October do hereby congratulate Mr. Armando Silva Jr. on his retirement following twenty nine years of outstanding and dedicated service to the City of Chicago; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED,-that a suitable copy of this resolution be prepared and presented to Armando Silva Jr.
