ORDINANCE
WHEREAS, Laurence Michalski was a long-time resident of Highland Avenue; and
WHEREAS, Laurence Michalski passed away on July 22, 2022; and was a lifelong Chicagoan and Edgewater resident in the same Chicago Bungalow for 52 years on W. Highland.
WHEREAS, Laurence Worked for and retired from the IRS, taught on a US military base, and traveled the world; and
WHEREAS, Laurence was a good citizen, loyal friend and neighbor ofthe Edgewater neighborhood, a dedicated dog advocate and gave generously to PAWS and Felines and Canines shelters, and will be sorely missed; now therefore:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF CHICAGO:
SECTION 1. Pursuant to an ordinance heretofore passed by the City Council which allows erection of honorary street-name signs, the Commissioner of Transportation shall take the necessary action for standardization ofthe 1600 block of West Highland Ave, from N Clark Ave running west to N Paulina Ave, as "Laurence Michalski Way".
