BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHICAGO:
SECTION 1. Chapter 2-84 is hereby amended by deleting Section 2-84-130 in its entirety, and replacing it with a new Section 2-84-130, as follows:
2-84-130 Acoustic gunfire detection contracts prohibition
Notwithstanding anything in this Code to the contrary, the City shall not enter into any contract, or renew or extend any existing contract, with a company for acoustic gunfire detection, alert and analytic subscription services. The Comptroller is prohibited from making any payment in connection with a future contract, or the renewal or extension of any contract existing as of the effective date of this Section, for acoustic gunfire detection, alert and analytic subscription services, or other technology which contains or utilizes acoustic gunfire detection.
No member ofthe City Council or other municipal officer shall introduce, and no Committee of the City Council shall consider or recommend, any ordinance or order that is contrary in any way to any ofthe requirements ofthis Section. No member ofthe City Council shall propose, and no Committee ofthe City Council shall consider, any amendment to an ordinance which, if passed, would render the ordinance contrary to any of the requirements of this Section. No officer or employee of the City shall enforce any ordinance or order that is contrary to any of the requirements of this Section.
No individual or entity may operate an acoustic gunfire detection, alert and analytic subscription services, or other technology which contains or utilizes acoustic gunfire detection, within the City. No City department, agency, division, commission, council, committee, board, other body, or person established by authority of an ordinance, executive order, or City Council order, or any agent of the foregoing may utilize information, images, or sounds from acoustic gunfire detection, alert and analytic subscription services, or other technology which contains or uti...
